Players:
Welcome to the Players Settings tab. Below, we’ll go over how to navigate the Players Settings, and what each setting offers.
Adding A Player
To add a new player to GSPro, click on the small “Plus” found in the bottom left corner of the screen. Each player is then offered three tabs: Information, Golf Bag, and Operation 36.
Information:
In this tab, we will customize the majority of information tied to this specific player with some additional preferences.
Name: Enter the name you’d wish to see displayed in game for this player. (SGT Members: Use the exact spelling of your SGT account)
SGT ID: This is a verification ID for Simulator Golf Tour members. You can find more information on where to find your SGT ID here: SGT Account
Email Address: Use the same email address used when you purchased GSPro. This would be the email associated with your license.
Handicap: The handicap here is used while in game locally with friends (or online) during non-tournament (SGT) events. Use your own discretion here. Remember it is Golf, a game of integrity. When setting up your round, this is the handicap used when calculating your net score.
Handedness: Change the handedness of the player to right or left
MiniMap Location: This preference will change if the in game minimap is placed on the right or left side of the screen. (Global will except the global settings used in round setup)
Realism: Global will accept the setting from round setup. Custom allows for the configuration of surface penalties (rough, deep rough, etc) as well as power boosts. Full Curvature is exactly what the launch monitor sends to GSPro. From there, it can be gradually adjusted down to a fully Reduced level that lowers the impact spin has on a given shot.
NOTE: Realism is worth dedicating time to experiment with the settings on the range. This approach helps you discover which adjustments best suit you or any guest players who might be new to golf or seeking a more enjoyable learning experience. It is certainly a setting that can make a new golfer have a better experience against a more skilled player.
Golf Bag:
Bag mapping is done on a per player basis. There are two modes available here: “Manual Entry”, and “Bag Mapping Session”. Before looking at each option, use the drop down arrows next to each club to select the exact variety of clubs you will be using. Feel free to enter a nickname for any clubs. (For example: If you have two different drivers)
Manual Mapping: You are free to simply fill out the yardages for each club. Keep in mind this is TOTAL yardage, not carry. These yardages will be used in game to attempt to auto-select your club for you in the lower-left in the game interface.
Mapping Session: If you would like to use your actual yardages, similar to a club fitting session, click “Start Bag Mapping” button. It will walk you through a session and average out your shots for you and enter the data for each club as a result of the session. Start by pressing the “Begin” button. You will be asked to take 5 shots with each club. You will have the option to delete the last shot taken before hitting again. This allows for you to remove mishits like the dredged shank.
NOTE: When either option is complete, always make sure to click “Apply Updates”. (If you don’t like your changes and want to refresh the bag, click “Reset to Defaults”)
Bag Locker: Lastly, there is a “Bag Locker” in which you can create different bag presets depending on your needs. Maybe you have a custom bag you use when playing a Par 3 course, you remove your Driver and 3W and add in a couple more wedges or other ‘in between’ clubs. You can Save and Load different bag setups here.
Operation 36:
This partnership provides golfers of all levels the opportunity to learn how to play golf using this proven methodology. The idea is to shoot Par (36 strokes) in 9 holes of golf. This is accomplished by starting from short distances to longer distances. The Operation36 roadmap is outlined with GSPro so you and any level of golfer can reap the rewards of this time proven learning tool.
In this tab, users can view your current progress through different “levels”.
