Online Match:

Below is a quick guide going over how to set up an Online Match for other users to join, and what settings/features are uniquely offered to it.

Where can the Online Match option be found:

From the main menu, you will find Online Match as the furthest right option:

Join or Create:

When selecting Online Match, you'll be offered the option to create or join an online match. When creating your own Online Room, select the “Room Name” text box to create your room name.

(Available in the Public Beta V3.0.5.27) Make Room Public: If you’d like to create an open room for anyone to view and join, enable this option.

If a player has already created an online room, ask for the room name and insert it into the “Join” tab instead:

(Available in the Public Beta V3.0.5.27) Public Rooms: Any room made Public with the option mentioned above will populate in the “Public Rooms” box. Rather than using the “Join” tab option, you can press “Play” on any room found in the Public Rooms box.

Course Selection:

After creating your own Online Match, you’ll need to select your desired course:

Once you’ve selected your desired course, you’ll have three tabs to edit/view. (Available in the Public Beta V3.0.5.27) With this Public Beta version, you’ll have access to a fourth “Chat” tab.

Players Tab:

Within the first “Players” tab, you’ll be able to view/add players in the Online Match. With some additional information/settings at your disposal.

  1. Local Player selection: In these slots, you can add more players locally by clicking the plus in an available slot, and selecting your players of choice.

    1. Tee Box: Directly under the Player name, you can change the player’s tee box they’ll play from. (“Match Settings Tees” will default to the tee box selected in the Match Settings)

    2. Change Team / Color: This option will allow you to change each player’s team color if the selected game mode is team based.

  2. Players In Room: This section will show you what players are currently in the room, and what color team they are on. (New players may only join after a selected course has been chosen)

  3. Create New Player: You may create new players directly here before starting the match.

  4. Room Name: If you can’t remember what room name you created, you can find it labeled here.

  5. Play: Once everything looks right, you can start your round.

Match Settings Tab:

The Match Settings tab allows you to customize your round from a wide variety of options.

Round Setup:

  1. Game Mode: Select Stroke, Scramble, Match, Alternate Shot (Stroke), Best Ball, Stableford, Shamble

  2. Tee Box: This is the tee box used if not specified by player in “Players” tab. (if players setting is “match setting tee”)

  3. Pins: Thursday, Friday, Saturday, or Sunday

  4. Gimmie/Auto Putt: Select distance to cup (2,4,5,6,8,10,12,16,18,20), Auto-Putt Fixed , Auto-Putt Random, Pick Your Putt, AutoPutt Fixed w/Chip

  5. Mulligan: On or Off (CTRL M is keyboard shortcut in game for taking a mulligan)

Course Setup:

  1. Green Firmness: 5 different settings from super soft to super hard (Links style)

  2. Fairway Firmness: 5 different settings from super soft to super hard (Links style)

  3. Elevation: Global (setup in setting of your local setup, this is your elevation setting) or course elevation set by the course designer.

  4. Stimp: speed in which the greens will roll.

  5. Wind: No Wind, Calm, Breezy, Gusty.

    1. Calm: 0-5 mph

    2. Breezy: 5-10 mph

    3. Gusty: 10-25 mph

Scoring & Assistance:

  1. Concede Score: Set what is scored when hole is conceded

  2. Auto Concede: Turn on to allow hole to be conceded automatically when the score is reached

  3. Putting Assist: Turn on/off the games ability to semi-autocorrect ball line when putting. Some Launch Monitors will skew ball roll +/- when putting. This will ensure that skew is no more than 2 degrees.

  4. Breakline Assist: On/off to enable or disable the ‘aiming stick’. This red stick has a white tail that indicates the amount of break in the green and its severity. Longer the white tail, the more severe the break.

  5. Realism: Force Realistic (GSPro algorithm) or Player Setting (will use the custom setting of each player to make game penalties easier and to add boost)

  6. Handicap: On or Off. This is used to automatically tally Net scores if Handicap between golfers is set in player configuration. Scoreboard will reflect handicapped scoring.

  7. Putting Forgiveness: This will dictate the degree of difficulty and how the cup will ‘gobble’ the ball. Easy, Normal, Hard

    1. Normal – is what is designed to be as close to real life as possible. It is also the default used

    2. Easy – Creates a much easier approach to putting and what will ‘go in’ as the ball approaches the cup.

    3. Hard – Challenge yourself and become a better putter. This will ensure your putts are pure to drop in the cup

  8. Putt Auto Aim: GSPro will aim your putt for you (just cant hit it for you though)

Holes Tab:

Here, you are able to choose the desired holes to play during the round. By default all 18 holes will be selected. Uncheck the check box below any hole you’d wish to not include in your match. (You can also remove whole front or back 9s with the check boxes shown on the far left side of the screen)

(Available in the Public Beta V3.0.5.27) Chat:

With the Public Beta version 3.0.5.27, there are two new methods to communicate with others in your Online Match.

Lobby Chat:

When sitting in the Online Match lobby, you can type directly in the Chat tab.

Video Ninja Voice/Video Chat:

Before starting the match, you can select “Try Video Ninja” found in the Chat tab. This will open a browser tab on your PC and generate a chat room for you to join. When the room opens, you’ll be represented with two options:

  1. Join Room With Camera: This option will allow you to utilize webcams or other cameras in your setup for a live video feed.

    1. Click a valid “Video Source” connected to your PC. Once done, check to ensure your Audio input/output sources are setup to your liking. Once done, press “Start”

  2. Screenshare With Room: With this option, you’ll be asked to select a monitor connected to your PC to share.

    1. Click the green “Select Screen To Share”. If you’d like display GSPro without audio, select the application under the “Window” tab. If you want to include audio from your GSPro match, select the screen GSPro is displayed on in the “Entire Screen” tab:
