GSPro In-Game User Interface (UI) Guide:

This guide provides a comprehensive overview of the GSPro user interface elements that are common across all modes of play. While previous guides may have touched on specific UI elements for particular challenges or practice modes, this document offers a detailed explanation of the core interface components you'll encounter throughout play on all modes.

(For my example screenshots below, I’ll be utilizing the Whispering Pines course and the Practice Range)

Player Information:

Located in the top left corner of the screen, this section displays essential information about the player and their current game status.

  1. Player Name: Displays the active player's name. In multiplayer matches, the player at the top of the list is currently up to take their shot. Players who have already taken their shot are indicated by an asterisk next to their name. (In most game modes, you can click on any player name to advance that player's turn)

  2. Shot Number: Shows which shot the active player is currently on (e.g., "Shot 1")

  3. Distance to Pin: Displays the distance between your ball and the pin in yards (e.g., "287.6 YDS")

  4. Elevation Difference: Shows the elevation difference between your ball and the hole (e.g., "8.8 YDS")

    • An upward-pointing arrow indicates the ball is below the hole

    • A downward-pointing arrow indicates the ball is above the hole

  5. Score Indicator: A quick reference showing your current score relative to par (e.g., "E" for even par)

Wind Information:

Positioned at the top of the screen, this section provides crucial details about current wind conditions if enabled in Match Settings.

  1. Wind Speed: Displays the current wind speed (e.g., "7 MPH")

  2. Directional Arrow: A rotating arrow that shows the wind direction relative to the player's current orientation

  3. Cardinal Direction: Indicates the exact cardinal direction of the wind, independent of the player's orientation

Course Information:

Located in the top right corner of the screen, this section offers details about the course and current hole.

  1. Hole Number: The large number in the white box represents the current hole you're playing

  2. Course Name: Displays the name of the course (e.g., "Whispering Pines")

  3. Par Value: Indicates the par for the current hole (e.g., "Par 4")

  4. Hole Distance: Shows the total distance from the tee box to the pin (e.g., "288 YDS")

In-Game Menu:

Also found in the top right corner of your screen, this menu can be accessed by clicking the small box with four dots, providing access to various game settings and options.

  1. Data Tiles: Toggle the visibility of data tiles on your screen

  2. Settings: Access game settings, visual settings, round settings, and player settings

  3. Lighting: Adjust time, weather, color, light position, and offset settings

  4. Shot Options: Open the shot options menu (More information on these options further in the guide)

  5. Flyover: Initiate a flyover animation from the tee box to the pin

  6. Putt Grid: Enable or disable the putting grid on the green

  7. Putt Mode: Switch directly to the putter

  8. Show Flag: Toggle the visibility of the flag over the hole

  9. Shortcuts: Display or hide keyboard shortcut menu for GSPro

  10. Scorecard: View or hide the scorecard for your current round

Data Tiles:

Data tiles display information sent from your launch monitor to GSPro. Their position (left or right side of the screen) depends on your player settings.

  • In Practice mode (e.g., On Course Practice or the Practice Range), you can view up to 24 total data tiles

  • In Local Match mode, you're limited to 12 total data tiles

  • For detailed information on what each data tile represents/reads, please refer to the Data Tiles guide here: Data Tiles

Mini Map:

The mini map appears on either the right or left side of the screen again based on your player settings, offering overhead visualization tools and some additional features.

(Image taken from the new Practice Range)

  1. Range Finder: Enable the range finder by clicking the target-shaped icon (You can also use the keyboard shortcut "R" to toggle this option)

  2. Current Lie: The middle text at the top of the mini map indicates your ball's current lie (Tee, Fairway, Rough, Green, etc.)

  3. Distance/Offline List: (Only available in the Practice Range) Clicking the small list icon will show the recorded Distance/Offline stats for each shot taken so far on the Practice Range.

  4. Erase List: (Only available in the Practice Range) Clicking on the eraser icon will erase all stats in your previously mentioned list, as well as the dispersion shots represented as mentioned below.

  5. Ball Dispersion Color: (Only available in the Practice Range) When on the Practice Range, each ball will be shown on the mini map. (As a sort of dispersion map) This option allows you to alternate between several colors your ball will show on the mini map.

  6. Expand/Reduce Mini Map: Clicking the "two arrow icon" allows you to expand the mini map or reduce it back to its original size. (Expanding the mini map allows for you to see some hidden options/features)

  7. Minimize/Maximize Mini Map: Clicking the arrow pointing up/down allows you to full collapse or extend the mini map back to its original size.

  8. Up/Down, and Right/Left Lie Information: Located at the bottom of the mini map, these indicators show the angle of your current lie:

    1. Up: If your Lie Angle reports Up, it means your ball is on an upwards lie. An upwards lie tends to increase more height through more loft. If the degree is severe enough, you may lose distance in your yardage due to the amount of height gained from the loft.

    2. Down: If your Lie Angle reports Down, it means your ball is on a downwards lie. A downwards lie tends to reduce your loft creating a lower flying shot. If the downward lie angle is too severe, you are more likely to produce a shorter shot from a higher possibility of rolling, colliding with the ground early.

    3. Left: A Lie Angle indicated as Left means that your “feet” in GSPro are below the ball. The higher the degree shown left, the steeper you are underneath the ball. Being below the ball tends to indicate that the ball will start its path left.

    4. Right: Just the opposite indication of Left. If your Lie Angle reports as left, it means that your “feet” are placed above the ball. A higher degree shown right, the steeper you are placed above the ball. Being above the ball tends to indicate that the ball with start its path right.

  9. Automated Aim Points: White dots with attached distances on the mini map represent suggested aim points that help GSPro determine player orientation automatically. (These dots do not necessarily represent what direction you as a player should aim for, but simply help GSPro orient the camera upon loading each shot on that hole)

Shot Options, Club Selection, and Handedness:

These clustered UI options appear in the bottom corner of the screen (right or left again, depending on your players settings).

Shot Options:

After taking a shot, you'll be able to select from dropdown menu of options. (Some options such as Mulligans will only be present in this list if enabled in Match Settings before starting the match)

  1. Replay: View your shot again with the below customizable camera settings.

    1. GO: Clicking GO will start the shot replay.

    2. Camera: This UI does not provide an action, but separates the below three camera based settings from the rest of the menu.

      1. FOLLOW: By selecting follow, the camera will follow the ball through its flight.

      2. PLAYER: By selecting PLAYER, the camera will stay with the player for the duration of the ball’s flight.

      3. LANDING: By selecting Landing, the camera will be placed in the approximate landing position to capture the ball landing.

    3. REPLAY EXIT: By selecting REPLAY EXIT, you’ll exit back out to the Shot Options menu.

  2. Concede: Concede the hole at the maximum set concede score (configured in Match Settings)

  3. Sim Drop: By selecting Sim Drop, you will be represented with a large mini map pop up menu. Within this menu, you will click on a location you would like to drop the ball in favor of your current position. The “Accept” option will only light up to select once you’ve selected a proper location:

    1. -/+”: The minus and plus symbols allow you to zoom in and out of the mini map for a better scope of the position you’d wish to select.

    2. Accept: Once you’ve selected a valid position to drop the ball, the Accept option will light up and allow you to drop your ball in that location.

    3. Cancel: If you’ve mistakenly selected this option or decide you no longer want to drop the ball in a new location, you can select “Cancel” to return back to the Shot Options menu.

  4. REHIT: Upon selecting REHIT, you will be allowed to take another shot from your previous position at the cost of one stroke. (You will be prompted with an extra confirmation to ensure this is the action you’d like to take)

Club Selector:

The club selector will represent the club from your bag GSPro believes to be the best utilized from your current position. By clicking the club selector, you’ll be represented with the full list of clubs in your bag you can select. (You can also utilize the keyboard shortcuts I and K to toggle up/down your list of clubs available in your bag.

Do Note that some launch monitors (like the Mevo+) consider the selected club to determine their mode, while others (like GC3) ignore the club selection entirely.

Handedness:

Displays and allows you to toggle between right-handed (RH) or left-handed (LH) play by clicking on the UI. (You can also utilize the keyboard shortcut “N” to change hands)
